Researcher

Dr Serrano is an ARC DECRA Fellow within the Centre for Marine Ecosystems Research in the School of Science. He has over ten years research experience in marine ecology and palaeoecology, and inbiogeosciences. His work has generated a new research program on seagrass ecology and in marine biogeochemical cycles based on the analysis of the palaeoarchives existing in the massive deposits these ecosystems develop over millennia and the insights it can provide on climate change and the impacts on coastal ecosystems, including the study of long-term fluxes of mercury in coastal environments.
